Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Garaj is a vehicle record and reminder service based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this policy, “Garaj”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the Garaj mobile application and garaj-app.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information: email address, name, profile photo, country preference, authentication provider and account identifier. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account details that provider makes available with your permission.

Vehicle information: vehicle type, make, model, year, plate details, VIN, odometer, engine, fuel, transmission, body type, purchase details and insurance information you choose to enter.

Records and files: service and repair records, garages, dates, mileage, prices, notes, vehicle photos, invoices and documents you upload.

Support and communications: messages you send to support and delivery information for verification, welcome and service emails.

Technical information: security, error and service logs created by our infrastructure, such as timestamps, request status, device or network information and identifiers needed to operate and protect the service. Garaj does not currently use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking SDKs.

3. How we use information

We use your information to create and secure your account; store and display your vehicle history; upload and retrieve files; calculate totals and reports; provide reminders you enable; create exports and private sharing links; respond to support requests; send transactional emails; prevent misuse; troubleshoot; and comply with applicable law.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

4. When information is shared

We use service providers to run Garaj, including Google Firebase for authentication, database, file storage and cloud functions; Resend for transactional and support email; and Apple or Google when you choose their sign-in service. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

When you create a vehicle-history link, anyone who has that link can view the categories you selected until it expires or you revoke it. Do not send a sharing link to someone who should not see that information.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. Personal documents and service attachments are not disclosed through vehicle-history links.

5. Storage and international transfers

Garaj uses cloud providers that may process and store information outside the UAE, including in the United States and other locations where they operate. We use contractual and technical safeguards intended to protect information during these transfers.

Files selected on your device are uploaded to Garaj cloud storage when you save them. Notification preferences and limited application settings may also be kept on your device.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep account content while your account is active or as needed to provide Garaj. You can delete individual vehicles, records, photos and documents in the app.

You can permanently delete your account in You → Delete account. This removes the account and associated live Garaj data, including vehicles, service records, photos, documents, profiles, valuations and sharing links. Limited security, delivery, backup or audit records may remain for the period required by our providers, fraud prevention or applicable law, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

7. Your choices and rights

You can access and correct most information in the app, disable reminders in Settings, revoke shared links, delete content and delete your account. You may contact us to request access, correction, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent or deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your identity.

8. Security and children

We use access controls, authenticated storage paths and encrypted provider connections designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so protect your login details and report suspected unauthorised access.

Garaj is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Garaj changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects your rights or how we use information.
